TAMPA, Fla. — Police have arrested the man they believe is behind an armed robbery of the poker room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa.
Firstly, this is miniscule compared to some I've seen but we share the problems all the same. I'm 22, been betting for about 2 years, purely online, and out of boredom mostly. Dirk Davis, 24, of Tampa, was arrested on Tuesday without incident in Ailey, Georgia, and is being held without bond in the Montgomery County Jail on an out-of-state warrant for armed robbery.
Police say that just after 2 a.m. on Friday, February 2, Davis stole money from a cashier in the poker room of the casino. He was reportedly armed with a handgun. Authorities have not stated how much money was stolen.

Seminole Police Chief William Latchford credits tips to Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay with leading to the identification and capture of Davis.
'It's not smart to attempt a crime at a casino,' said Latchford. 'All Seminole Casinos have comprehensive surveillance video and other equipment that provide good quality photos and give us a clear picture of incidents that occur on property.'

'I feel safe there, you know, because they have so much security there and they have so many cameras so I do feel safe,' Oscar Amons said.

'People just don't care nowadays. When they want money, they go out and get it,' one woman said.
